Quick and Cheesy Kielbasa Skillet
Craving something quick, cheesy, and full of flavor? Look no further than this Cheesy Kielbasa Skillet!
The smoky, savory notes from the turkey kielbasa blend perfectly with the creamy richness of melted cheese, creating a comforting dish that the whole family will love.
Cooking a delicious meal doesn’t have to be complicated or time consuming.

The Ingredients
Turkey Kielbasa: This leaner option keeps the dish light while still delivering a rich, savory taste. Slice it into bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking and a bit of crispiness.
Rice: I used long grain white rice. It’s low in fat and sodium plus it’s a good source of energy.
Chicken Broth: Using low sodium chicken broth helps to reduce the overall sodium content.
Broccoli: This is the perfect vegetable to add. It is packed with essential nutrients like vitamins C and K, fiber, potassium, and antioxidants.
Cheese: I used reduced-fat Mexican cheese since I had it on hand. You could also use reduced-fat cheddar cheese.

How to Make a Quick and Cheesy Kielbasa Skillet
Start by slicing the turkey kielbasa into bite-size pieces.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey kielbasa and cook for 5 minutes or until it’s slightly browned on both sides.
Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the rice and chicken broth. Bring it to a boil, cover, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
I bought frozen broccoli for this recipe. While the mixture was simmering I cooked the broccoli according to the directions on the package.
Once the 20 minutes were up I stirred in the cheese and broccoli.
All that’s left to do is serve it up!
Serving Suggestions
Complement the rich flavors of your skillet with a light and fresh side salad. A simple green salad dressed with a lemon vinaigrette can add a refreshing contrast.
A slice of crusty whole-grain bread or a warm, soft dinner roll can be a tasty addition. Bread is perfect for soaking up any melted cheese or savory juices left on your plate.
Garnish your skillet with fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, or basil to add a burst of color and a hint of freshness. These herbs can also enhance the overall flavor profile of the dish.
Hot sauce or red pepper flakes can add a bit of heat to the dish.
A fresh fruit salad or a side of apple slices can add a sweet contrast to the savory elements of the skillet.
