Slow Cooker Whole Chicken (Ten Dollar Meal)
You can feed 4 people for under $10 and it’s WW friendly!
I did my shopping at Kroger, but you can shop pretty much anywhere and find the same things.

The Ingredients
Whole chicken: I found a whole chicken on sale for only $5.46. Even if it wasn’t on sale, I can usually find a whole chicken for around $8.00.

Red potatoes: I spent $1.77 on the potatoes, which were $1.39 a lb. I cut them into bite-size pieces, seasoned them, and cooked them in the air fryer.
They made a great low point side dish.

The “pantry staples” I used for this recipe included seasonings and cooking spray.
My boyfriend bought Kinder’s seasoning and I’ve become obsessed with it. Specifically The Blend Seasoning Salt, Pepper, and Garlic. It’s so good!
I put the seasoning on the chicken and the potatoes.
As far as points for this recipe it depends on what part of the chicken you eat.
Since I ate the chicken breast (skin removed) it was zero points.
I also had 4 ounces of the red potatoes which was 3 points. I highly recommend buying a food scale so you know exactly how much food you’re eating and how many points it is.
The Weight Watchers app shows 1/2 cup of red potatoes is 2 points. By weighing my potatoes I feel like I got a lot of potatoes for only 3 points.

My meal as shown was only 4 points. I also had a salad with it which was an additional point. It was filling and delicious!

How to Make Slow Cooker Whole Chicken
In the bottom of the slow cooker, I added four balls of aluminum foil. This is so the chicken wasn’t sitting in all of the juices while it cooked.
Remove the giblets from the cavity of the chicken then add the chicken to the slow cooker.
Season the chicken with your favorite seasonings. I used Kinder’s The Blend Seasoning Salt, Pepper, and Garlic.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high 3 to 4 hours, or until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165 degrees F.
When the chicken was almost done cooking I got the potatoes ready. I started by cleaning and cutting them into bite-size pieces.
Add the potatoes to the air fryer basket, spray with oil and season. Cook at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Shake the basket a couple of times when the potatoes are cooking.
My chicken fed me and my two daughters. I even had enough chicken breast left to make Cottage Cheese Chicken Salad for lunch the next day.
