Slow Cooker Pork Chops (Ten Dollar Meal)

If you are on the hunt for a perfect ten dollar dinner that is both flavorful and easy to make, look no further than this Slow Cooker Pork Chop recipe. Plus, it’s Weight Watchers friendly!

It’s a delicious, fuss-free meal that will satisfy your cravings while keeping your wallet happy.

The key ingredients include pork chops, Healthy Request Cream of Chicken Soup, French onion soup mix, and chicken broth.

These ingredients create a delicious gravy for the pork chops. As they slow cook, the pork chops become incredibly tender, practically falling apart.

How I Kept It Light:

Boneless pork chops are a great option because it’s a lean meat. It’s also a good source of protein, zinc, iron, and selenium. If you’re like me and have thyroid issues, you may know that selenium is essential for thyroid function.

Instead of using regular cream of chicken soup I used Healthy Request because it’s lower in points. Is it the healthiest thing in the world? No, but it sure makes for tasty recipes.

You could also add baby carrots to give it a boost of vegetables.

The Cost:

I tend to shop at Kroger because they have great deals on meat. If you’ve seen any of my other $10 meals that are WW friendly, you’ve probably seen the $5 boneless, skinless chicken breast packs. They also have a $5 pack of pork chops, which I used for this recipe.

For this recipe I bought:

  • Boneless pork chops – $5.00
  • Healthy Request Cream of Chicken Soup – $1.89
  • French onion soup mix (I bought the Kroger brand) $.89
  • Chicken broth $.79

I also bought fresh green beans which cost $1.24.

My grand total was $9.81. That includes the green beans!

How to Make Slow Cooker Pork Chops:

This recipe is extremely easy – just dump and go!

I placed the pork chops in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Next, I added the cream of chicken soup, French onion soup mix, and chicken broth.

You don’t even need to mix the soups in a bowl before pouring it over the pork chops, just give it a little stir once it’s in the slow cooker.

Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.

It’s that easy!

It’s a meal that provides comfort and satisfaction without causing strain on your wallet or your time.

Serving Suggestions:

Not in the mood for green beans? That’s ok!

Other options are mashed potatoes, a different steamed vegetable, or a crisp side salad.

Another great idea is to serve the pork chops over a bed of rice, an excellent way to absorb the flavorful gravy.
