Prosciutto Arugula Pizza

If you’re on the hunt for an easy dinner that doesn’t skimp on flavor, look no further than this Prosciutto Arugula Pizza.

Combining the rich, savory taste of prosciutto with the peppery freshness of arugula, this pizza is a delicious and satisfying meal.

With a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time, you can enjoy a gourmet-style pizza at home.

The Ingredients

Pizza Dough: Store bought pizza dough is perfect for this recipe and it saves you time.

I bought Jus-Rol family size pizza crust. If you use a different brand make sure to check the points.

Prosciutto: This Italian cured meat adds a savory and slightly salty flavor.

Fresh Mozzarella: This cheese adds a creamy texture and rich flavor. It also compliments the other ingredients in the recipe.

Arugula: A leafy green that provides a fresh, peppery contrast to the richness of the prosciutto and cheese.

Olive Oil Spray: Spraying the dough with olive oil helps to give it a golden, crispy crust.

Seasonings: I used garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.

How to Make Prosciutto Arugula Pizza

Start by preheating your oven to the temperature specified on your pizza dough package, mine was 425°F.

Unroll the pizza dough with parchment paper and place it on a baking sheet. Spray the pizza dough with olive oil and season it with garlic powder and oregano.

Bake the pizza dough for 5 minutes.

Use a food scale to measure 2 ounces of fresh mozzarella. Break up the mozzarella into small pieces and add it to the pizza dough. Place it back in the oven for 5 minutes.

While the pizza is baking use the food scale to weigh 2 ounces of prosciutto. Cut it into bite-size pieces.

Once the 5 minutes is up add the prosciutto to the pizza. Place it back in the oven for 5 minutes.

Add the arugula to a medium sized mixing bowl. Spray it with the olive oil spray and season it with salt and pepper. Use tongs to cover the arugula in olive oil, salt, and pepper.

When the pizza is done baking, add the arugula to the top of the pizza.

Cut the pizza into 12 pieces and serve.

Serving Suggestions

Red pepper flakes or a drizzle of balsamic glaze can add an extra kick and layer of flavor to your pizza.

Pairing your pizza with a simple side salad can balance out the richness of the toppings. A fresh salad with vegetables and a light vinaigrette dressing complements the pizza well.

Alternatively, a light soup, such as a minestrone, can make for a satisfying meal without adding too many extra calories.

Another great serving idea is to accompany your pizza with a selection of roasted vegetables. Vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes can be roasted in the oven alongside the pizza. They add both color and nutrition to your meal.
