Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich (Chick-fil-A Copycat)

You can get your Chick-fil-A fix at a fraction of the points!

According to the Weight Watchers app the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich at Chick-fil-A is 12 points. My version is only 4 points but still delicious.

The Ingredients

Chick-fil-A’s website lists the ingredients of this sandwich as a lemon-herb marinated boneless breast of chicken, colby jack cheese, applewood smoked bacon, green leaf lettuce, and tomato. It also says it pairs well with honey roasted BBQ sauce.

Here are the ingredients I used:

Chicken breast: Just like Chick-fil-A I used boneless, skinless chicken breast. I didn’t need to make any changes because it’s a 0 point protein.

Coby jack cheese: There’s not a reduced-fat version of this cheese that I’m aware of so I had to get creative.

I went to the deli and had the colby jack cheese sliced extra thin. Two slices of cheese totalled 1/2 ounce which was 3 points. I used my food scale to weigh the cheese.

BBQ sauce: I used G Hughes sugar free honey BBQ sauce. Two tablespoons is 0 points.

The marinade: I used fresh lemon juice, chicken broth, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

I didn’t want to use olive oil for the marinade since it’s high in points, instead, I used chicken broth which was 0 points.

Bacon: Oscar Mayer’s center cut bacon is only 1 point per slice. It has the fatty ends cut off making it a little bit better for you.

Lettuce: You can use any type of lettuce you want, I used Boston lettuce since that is what I had on hand.

Tomato: Feel free to use any type of tomato. I wanted a larger sized tomato so it was the same size of the bun.

Hamburger buns: I used Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart hamburger buns. They’re only 1 point each and taste great.

How to Make Grilled Chicken Club Sandwiches

The chicken should marinate for at least a 1/2 hour. The longer it marinates the more flavor it will have.

Add the fresh lemon juice, chicken broth, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to a large zip up bag.

Place two chicken breasts in the marinade, push the air out, and zip up the bag.

Put the chicken breasts in the fridge for at least 1/2 hour.

While the chicken was marinating I cooked the bacon, then set it on a paper towel and dabbed up any extra grease.

I used a grill pan to cook my chicken but you could also use a grill.

Cook the chicken for 3 minutes on each side or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. How long you cook the chicken will depend on the thickness of it, I like my chicken breast cut thin.

Now it’s time to assemble the sandwich. I placed the lettuce on the hamburger bun, followed by the tomato, chicken breast, cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce.

This sandwich is delicious, filling, and only 5 points!
