Churro Crescent Rolls
If you love the taste of churros but you’re trying to eat healthy, I have the perfect solution for you.
These low point churros made with crescent rolls offer a lighter alternative to the traditional, deep-fried version.
Reduced-fat crescent rolls serve as the perfect base for these churros, providing a flaky and tender texture that mimics traditional churro dough.

What makes this recipe truly special is its versatility and simplicity. With just a few ingredients and straightforward steps, you can whip up a batch of these delightful churros in no time.
They’re perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth or for serving at gatherings where you want to offer a lighter dessert option.
Plus, since they’re baked instead of fried, there’s less mess and cleanup involved.
The Ingredients
Reduced-fat Crescent Roll Dough: This offers a lighter base than traditional churro dough but still provides that delightful flakiness. It helps to keep the churros low in calories and fat.
Granulated Splenda: This sugar substitute is an excellent choice for cutting down on calories while maintaining the sweetness that makes churros so irresistible.
If you don’t like Splenda you can replace it with a sweetener of your choice or sugar.
Splenda is a 1:1 ratio with sugar.
Cinnamon: A classic addition to churros that is mixed with granulated Splenda for an extra burst of flavor.
Spray Oil: I used spray canola oil. This helps the cinnamon mixture stick to the top of the crescent rolls and helps them turn a nice golden color.

How to Make Churro Crescent Rolls
Preheat your oven to 375°F and prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat.
Add 2 tablespoons of granulated Splenda and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to a small bowl. Stir to combine the ingredients.
Unroll the can of reduced-fat crescent rolls and separate them into individual triangles. I use a sharp knife to cut along the perforated lines.
Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture onto the crescent rolls.
Starting at the wide end of each triangle, roll them up tightly toward the pointed end, forming a crescent shape.
Arrange the rolled crescent shapes evenly on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is enough space between each one for even baking.
Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray and sprinkle on more of the cinnamon mixture.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and flaky.
Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking, which can cause them to dry out. Once they’re done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the churros cool slightly on a wire rack.
Serving Suggestions
These low-point churros can be served in a variety of ways to enhance their flavor.
One great way to enjoy them is with a selection of dipping sauces. Sugar-free chocolate syrup, light fruit compote, and even a sugar-free caramel sauce make excellent accompaniments.
Churro Crescent Rolls also pair well with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
