Ingredients

  • 1 lb. 96% lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 3 splashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the gravy:

  • 2 cups beef broth (reserve a couple of tablespoons)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 splashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a large bowl add the ground beef, seasoned breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt and black pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients together then form four oval beef patties.
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the patties from the pan and set them aside.
  • Add the onions to the skillet. Let them cook for 5 minutes or until they're soft. Add in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and a couple tablespoons of beef broth.
  • Once the broth starts to simmer, stir in the cornstarch mixture. Let the mixture simmer for 4 minutes or until the gravy is slightly thickened.
  • Place the patties back in the pan and cook until heated through.
