Lemon Chicken Pasta (Ten Dollar Meal)
This dish is everything you could want in a meal – it’s tasty, easy to make, and budget friendly.
That’s right, it’s another $10 meal that feeds 4 people. You can check out my other $10 meals here.

Actually, this dish only costs $8.45!
The Ingredients
Boneless, skinless chicken breast: You can buy a 1.25 lb. pack of chicken breast from Kroger for only $5. I chose this as the protein since it’s a great deal and 0 points.
Pasta: A 16 oz. box of penne pasta was $1.25. I used a food scale to weigh 8 ounces.
Garlic: A head of garlic is $.67. This adds a ton of flavor to the dish.
Lemon: One lemon was $.79. The lemon also brings a lot of flavor to the dish.
Parsley: The parsley adds color to the dish and a pop of fresh flavor.
I spent $8.45.

The “pantry staples” I used for this recipe were butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

How to Make Lemon Chicken Pasta
Cook the pasta according to the directions on the box. At the end of the cook time you want to reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Cook the chicken in a nonstick skillet. Once it’s fully cooked, remove it from the pan.
Melt the butter in the skillet and add the minced garlic. Let it cook for 1 minute, then add the lemon juice.
Add the noodles, chicken, and pasta water to the skillet. Mix everything together and top with the fresh parsley.
Serving Suggestions
I like to serve a low point side since pasta dishes are a little higher in points.
Broccoli, green beans, and asparagus are all great options.
A low point salad is also a great option.
