Easy Blueberry Bagels

For breakfast lovers, there is nothing more satisfying than a freshly baked blueberry bagel.

Using the two ingredient dough recipe makes these bagels low in points and easy to make.

Two ingredient dough is as simple as it sounds, requiring just a duo of key components: Greek yogurt and self-rising flour.

The magic lies in the unique properties of each ingredient. Self-rising flour takes care of the leavening, eliminating the need for yeast or baking powder.

On the other hand, Greek yogurt, which is packed with protein, infuses the dough with moisture, tenderness, and just the right amount of chewiness—a quintessential feature of a perfect bagel.

If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can use a mixture of all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Health Benefits of Blueberry Bagels Made with Two Ingredient Dough

Two ingredient dough blueberry bagels don’t just deliver on taste, they’re also a nutrient powerhouse.

The blueberries provide a burst of antioxidants and vitamin C, enhancing cardiovascular health and bolstering your immune system.

Meanwhile, the Greek yogurt contributes protein and probiotics, promoting good digestion and further boosting the nutrient profile.

Opting for self-rising flour offers essential carbohydrates for energy.

How to Make Easy Blueberry Bagels

You only need three ingredients to make these bagels:

  • Fat-free Greek yogurt, plain
  • Self-rising flour
  • Fresh blueberries

For this recipe, you need to use fresh blueberries. Frozen blueberries have too much water and will make the dough wet.

Add the yogurt and flour to a medium mixing bowl. Use a rubber spatula to mix together.

Once mixed, add the dough to a floured surface. Knead the dough until it is combined.

Add the blueberries to the dough and gently knead until they are combined.

Divide the dough into four pieces. Roll each dough piece into a log, then from a circle and seal the ends together.

Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Whisk together an egg with 2 tablespoons of water. Brush the egg wash over each bagel.

Bake for 25 minutes or until the bagels are golden.
