Chocolate Mousse

This is an easy chocolate mousse recipe that’s sure to cure your sweet tooth!

The best part is you only need two ingredients (plus a little water).

Frozen Peanut Butter Cups are one of my favorite sweet treats. They’re easy to make and low in points.

You mix PB2 powder and water then fold in the Cool Whip. It’s also the inspiration for this recipe.

I figured why not make it with cocoa powder instead of PB2 powder. And it worked!

Whisking together the cocoa powder and water made it so there wasn’t a grainy texture.

The Ingredients

Cool Whip: I bought fat free Cool Whip to keep it low in points.

I buy the Kroger brand and it’s only $1.19 for 8 ounces.

Cocoa Powder: I feel like most people always have this on hand. If not it costs $3.50-$6.00 in my area depending on the brand.

Water: Mixing the water with the cocoa powder prevents the mousse from having a grainy texture.

This recipe makes five (1/2 cup) servings for 3 points or ten (1/4 cup) servings for 2 points. Click here to track the points on your Weight Watchers app.

How to Make Chocolate Mousse

Add the cocoa powder to a medium sized mixing bowl. Add the water and whisk it together until there are no lumps.

You want to make sure the cocoa powder is smooth and not dry.

Next, fold in a small amount of Cool Whip.

Now you can add the rest of the Cool Whip and fold it in.

You don’t want to stir it aggressively because that will cause the Cool Whip to lose its fluff.

The chocolate mousse can be kept in a sealed container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

It can also be kept in the freezer for 2 months. To thaw it put it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Serving Suggestions

This chocolate mousse tastes great on its own but it can also be used as a dip.

Strawberries, bananas, cherries, or blueberries all tastes great with the mousse.
