Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

These Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins are delicious and only 3 points each! They’re regular size muffins, not mini.

You can meal prep them for breakfast, have them as a snack or dessert.

Hopefully you have some extra ripe bananas on hand!

This recipe is very similar to my Banana Bread recipe, which is very popular on my website.

The Ingredients

  • Extra ripe bananas (You need 1 cup of mashed bananas)
  • Unsweetened applesauce
  • Sugar free maple syrup
  • Skim milk
  • Eggs
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • All purpose flour

It seems like a lot of ingredients, but if you do any baking, you will probably have most of them.

How to Make Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.

In a large mixing bowl, add the mashed bananas, applesauce, sugar free maple syrup, skim milk, eggs, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon. Stir together well.

Add the chocolate chips and flour to the bowl. Mix together but don’t over stir it.

Divide the muffin batter into the 12 cups.

Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

f twelve muffins is too many for you that’s not a problem, they freeze well!

Simply wrap the muffins individually, then place them in a zip up bag.

These are regular size muffins, not mini! They are filling and delicious.
