Turkey Pesto Sandwich (Starbucks Copycat)
This is a copycat of the Starbucks sandwich and it’s to die for!
According to the Weight Watchers app, the Starbucks sandwich is 14 points, but my version is only 7 points.
I’ll show you exactly what I did to lighten it up.

The Ingredients
Ciabatta bread: Most of the points in this sandwich come from the bread. I used a food scale to weigh the bread. I wanted 2 ounces, which was 5 points.

I cut a good size piece of the ciabatta bread, then cut it in half. I removed part of the inside of the bread, until it weighed 2 ounces.
You can watch the video to see more of how I got the bread to 2 ounces.
Basil pesto: I bought store bought pesto. Since olive oil is one of the main ingredients it tends to be higher in points.
Because of that I limited the amount of pesto to 1/2 tablespoon, which was 1 point.
Provolone cheese: I bought Boar’s Head reduced sodium provolone cheese. I went to the deli and asked them to slice it thin.
Each slice was 1/2 ounce. I cut one piece of cheese in half and used it for my sandwich. .25 oz. of provolone cheese is 1 point.
Roasted red peppers: I bought roasted red peppers in water. They’re zero points so feel free to load them up.
I find the roasted red peppers with the pickles and banana peppers.
Turkey: I bought Boar’s Head Ovengold turkey, which is 0 points. I’m very picky about my lunchmeat, Boar’s Head is always my go-to.
The pesto and roasted red peppers add so much flavor and make it the perfect sandwich for summer.
This sandwich is also high in protein – 28 grams. This will help keep you full longer.

How to Make a Turkey Pesto Sandwich
Use a food scale to weigh out 2 ounces of the ciabatta bread. There should be two pieces of bread to make a sandwich.
Next, I toasted my bread slices. If you have a panini press you can wait until the sandwich is made and use that.
I wanted to make a quick sandwich so I just toasted my bread.
Add the pesto to one side of the bread.
Top it with the provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, and turkey.
It’s the perfect sandwich for a quick lunch or dinner!
Serving Suggestions
The possibilities are endless!
The first time I made this sandwich I had it with pretzel sticks and an apple.
I’ve also had it with cottage cheese. A half cup of 1% cottage cheese added 14 grams of protein to the meal.
You could also make a fruit salad or a low point salad.
