Smash Burger Quesadilla

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 Mission Carb Balance tortilla
  • 2 slices reduced-fat American cheese
  • salt, pepper, and garlic powder

Instructions

  • Roll the ground beef into two 3-ounce balls.
  • Place one ball between two sheets of parchment paper. Use a frying pan to smash the burger. Repeat with the second ball of meat.
  • Season burgers with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cook in a frying pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side (depending on how well you like your burger cooked).
  • While the burgers are cooking, fold the tortilla in half, spray a frying pan with cooking spray, and cook the tortilla until it is golden on each side.
  • During the last minute of cook time add the cheese to the burgers.
  • Cut the tortilla in half and add one burger to each half.
