Sloppy Joe Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. 96% lean ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 29 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 oz. cavatappi noodles
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Boil and drain the noodles according to the directions on the box.
  • Add the ground beef to a skillet and break it up while it cooks. Once it's slightly browned add in the onion, green pepper, and garlic.
  • When the ground beef is no longer pink, drain the grease.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the noodles, then top with cheese. Turn off the heat and put a cover over the skillet so the cheese melts - approximately 5 minutes.
