Sautéed Cabbage with Bacon
This is a delicious way to eat cabbage AND it’s only 1 point per serving!
Plus it has bacon!! Bacon added to anything makes it better.
The serving size will depend on the size of your head of cabbage, but each serving was 1 heaping cup.
That’s a large serving for only 1 point!

This Sauteed Cabbage with Bacon goes great with chicken, pork or even a burger!
The Ingredients
Cabbage: You need one head of cabbage for this recipe. Cabbage is good for you because it’s low in calories, high in fiber, and contains various antioxidants and nutrients.
Center Cut Bacon: Using center cut bacon instead of regular bacon helps to save points. It has less fat than regular bacon because it’s cut from the middle of the pork belly, close to the bone, which removes the fatty ends.
Onion: This helps to add flavor to the dish. I used a yellow onion to add a little bit of sweetness.
Seasonings: Garlic powder, salt, and black pepper are used to season the dish.

How to Make Sautéed Cabbage with Bacon
I started this dish by cooking up the bacon. When the bacon was done I set it aside.
You don’t want to clean out the pan. I used the bacon grease to cook the onions and the cabbage.
I made sure to add points for the bacon grease. Even with that it only came to 1 point per serving.
Add the chopped onion to the pan and let that cook for 2 minutes.
Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core. Then thinly slice the cabbage.
Add the cabbage to the pan, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and let it cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
While it’s cooking I broke up the bacon into small pieces.
Once the cabbage was cooked I added the bacon back in, then served it!
Easy peasy!
