Christmas Tree Dip
This dip is layered with delicious ingredients and shaped into a festive Christmas tree.
The base is made of smooth, creamy hummus, providing a sturdy foundation for the tree’s structure.
On top of the hummus, a layer of vibrant tabouli gives the tree its lush green appearance. Decorating the tree involves a combination of colorful and flavorful toppings.

Whether you’re hosting a family gathering or attending a holiday potluck, this festive dip is sure to impress.
The Ingredients
Hummus: I bought hummus that was already made at the grocery store, but you could also make your own.
Tabouli: This was also bought premade from the grocery store. It’s a delicious combination of finely chopped parsley, tomatoes, mint, onion, soaked bulgur, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and sweet pepper.
Feta Cheese: Sticking with the Mediterranean flavors, I used feta cheese as the snow.
Bell Peppers: I bought a three-pack of bell peppers – red, yellow, and orange. I used the red and orange peppers as the garland, the yellow pepper was used for the star of the tree.
You can use a star cookie cutter for the yellow pepper or freehand it with a paring knife.
Sliced Black Olives: These represented the ornaments on the tree.
Pretzel Sticks: I used these for the trunk of the tree.
How to Make Christmas Tree Dip
You want to use a large white serving platter. Use the hummus to shape the base of the Christmas tree. You can put the hummus in a piping bag or a zip up bag to make shaping the tree easier.
I used an icing spatula to smooth out the hummus.
Next, I topped the hummus with tabouli. Take spoonfuls of tabouli and carefully layer it over the hummus. Be sure to distribute the tabouli evenly to cover the entire surface of the hummus.

Chop the red and orange peppers into small pieces. Arrange the peppers in a zigzag pattern from top to bottom of the tree. I also cut out the star and topped the tree.

Place the olives evenly across the tree to simulate the look of Christmas ornaments.
Use pretzel sticks to form the trunk of the tree.

The last step is to sprinkle the tree with crumbled feta cheese. This adds another layer of flavor and helps to represent the “snow”.

Serving Suggestions
Pretzels are an excellent choice, offering a satisfying crunch that pairs well with the creamy texture of the hummus base. Their salty flavor also enhances the overall taste of the dip.
For a healthier option, consider an assortment of fresh, cut-up vegetables. Carrots, celery sticks, and cucumber slices are perfect for dipping and add a refreshing crispness.
Bell pepper strips, cherry tomatoes, and even broccoli florets can bring additional color and texture to your spread, making it even more festive and visually appealing.
Crackers are another great choice, especially those with a sturdy texture that can hold up to the thick layers of the dip. Opt for whole grain or multi-seed varieties to add an extra layer of flavor and crunch.
For those who enjoy a more gourmet touch, serve the dip with toasted pita bread triangles or crostini.
Lightly brushing these with olive oil and seasoning them with a pinch of sea salt before toasting will elevate the overall experience, adding a touch of sophistication to your holiday table.
